I have traveled somewhat and have been living overseas for about five years now and I can tell you the sentiment regarding the U.S. concerning its meddling with nation building and its thirst for war to “spread democracy” is not well accepted. I can share stories to support this as I have had many a chat at the local tea or coffee house overseas with foreigners about this, I think you get the idea. Foreign policy matters Americanism vs Globalism will be the focus of this post contrasting the stark differences between the candidates Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.
Foreign Policy Matters Americanism vs Globalism
Foreign Policy: Donald Trump believes we should cease all nation building escapades. He is for a strong well equipped powerful military but will be very selective in employing its use. Trump is on record as having been against the Iraq war before we even went in. On Russia, Donald Trump sees Russia as a valuable potential ally and trading partner and wants peace with them. He is prepared to talk with Vladimir Putin to put a coalition together to destroy ISIS. Trumps foreign policy speech can be viewed here. Trump sums it up with this excerpt from that speech…“We will no longer surrender this country or its people to the false song of globalism.”
Hillary Clinton on the other hand supported the wars and violent overthrow of Syria, Tunisia, Egypt, Iraq, Serbia, Ukraine, Sudan, result: millions of innocent people have been killed leaving much of the Middle East in chaos, death and destruction. Watch this if you can. Clinton also supported and voted for the Iraq war, another travesty and debacle causing all kinds of trouble to this day and into the future. Hillary Clinton has a thirst for power, control and war. She intends to increase military pressure believing Russia to be a threat and wants to build up offensive forces against them [Editor note: Operating from old cold war policies in a new world]. We can see how diametrically opposed these candidates are on most if not all of the critical issues. Trump and Clinton are on opposite sides of the spectrum indeed.
