There seems to be more talk of martial law by many people. People like Ben Carson for example and even Alan Greenspan. I too have blogged on this before and have provided those links in this post and I encourage you to read them and share them. Although the declaration of martial law in the United States is not a foregone conclusion, but as you will begin to connect the dots (go through the links within this post), you will see that it may very well be a most useful tool that could be implemented to halt the 2016 election of Donald J. Trump and it sure looks like the stage s being set for such an event. More Talk Of Martial Law
So what is martial law? In strict dictionary terms, martial law is the suspension of civil authority and the imposition of military authority. The military authority will act as the police, as the courts, as the legislature. The commander of the military is the President. It has been argued that the President can take it upon himself to declare martial law.
When might the government declare martial law? Martial law might be declared: in a time triggered by events when the civilian government has broken down; in a time when civilian authorities have lost control of order and security; during extensive riots or when disobedience of the law becomes widespread; to stabilize insurrections or perceived insurrections; when the government is threatened; in a time of war with a foreign invader; in a time of civil war; after a coup d’état. In the United States, there is precedent for martial law. The most obvious and often-cited example was when President Lincoln declared martial law during the Civil War. He suspended habeas corpus throughout the entire United States.
