You know something and you can feel it in your heart and it is with you all of the time and you cannot turn it off or turn away from it. The truth is difficult to ignore. I know you feel it slipping away.
In the 1940’s Woody Guthrie, American folk songwriter and activist said it best in his song titled “This Land is Your Land”. I encourage you to click on that link and listen to the song. This was a song we sang in our music class in grade school, (my how times have changed wouldn’t you say?) back when I was a kid in New York in the 1960’s. Fast forward a bit and we have Lee Greenwood’s tremendous vocal performance on yet another song called “God Bless the USA” from the 1980’s which became popularized once again following the attacks of September 11, 2001 as you may recall. I encourage you to click on that link and listen to the song.
In 1999 I wrote a song called “We are America” while living in the majestic mountains of Colorado. Some years later I produced and arranged the song in a recording studio in Florida and solicited the incredibly talented singer Todd Plant who covered the vocals. From Thailand in 2015 I produced this video of that song. I encourage you to click on that link and listen to the song.
Even though you feel it slipping away you must realize that, we are America. America came to be through divine intervention if you will. I am not talking about religion here as the Founding Fathers came from different religious backgrounds. I am referring to the power of this universe, which is within us all, the oneness, the creator, whomever and however you believe this to be. It has been said in more circles than one, that the words “I AM” represents the source of all, God, the powers of this universe. When you look at the word America and move its letters around you can arrive at “I am Race”- America.
You have the power. You are the love and light and you are the power. We Are America!
